Looking to buy or sell in the Halifax Regional Municipality? Understanding the local market is the first and most important step!
The November 2025 stats for the overall HRM show a steady, active market with some key shifts compared to previous years. Here's a breakdown of the numbers:
Average Sale Price: $597,430
The Trend: While prices have climbed significantly over the last few years, the average is up from $572,966 in 2024 and $546,809 in 2023, showing the market's continued resilience and demand.
Total Number Sold: 5,191 homes across the 12-month period trailing November 2025.
Average Days on Market (DOM): 36 days.
What this means: While still a fast pace, homes are taking a bit longer to sell compared to the red-hot pace of 2023 (28 days) and 2022 (18 days). This signals that buyers have a bit more time to make decisions, and sellers need to focus on smart pricing and presentation from day one.
Current Active Listings: 1,151.
With new listings activated at 1,080 for the month, buyers are seeing more choice than in past years, which is a welcome development for those house-hunting!
